Zimbabwe says it appreciates the excellent working relationship with the United Nations (UN) country team members as they foster development in the country.

This came out during celebrations held in Harare to mark the UN’s 72th anniversary.

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Walter Mzembi said relations between Zimbabwe and the UN have resulted in a number of developments in the country.

“The UN has been so helpful to the nation especially complementing government efforts in the provision of humanitarian assistance,” said Dr Mzembi.

The UN Resident Coordinator in Zimbabwe, Bishow Parajuli said they are working with the government on six areas of cooperation including agriculture and food security where nearly 1,1 million people are in need of food.

The UN anniversary was running under the theme: ‘Delivering Together for a Better Zimbabwe.’
