Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Cde Owen Ncube has hailed one of the leading seed companies in the country for supporting the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa’s vision and quest to improve the living standards of children, women and the elderly.

Cde Ncube was speaking during a handover of donations by the seed company to Kwekwe District Hospital and primary school.

The Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister expressed appreciation for the donation to the vital institutions as a fulfillment of Seedco managing director’s pledge to the First Lady during a recently field day at Precabe farm in Sherwood.

The seed company donated $5 000 to Kwekwe Primary School and five tonnes of mealie meal to the district hospital.

Accepting the donations on behalf of Amai Mnangagwa, Cde Ncube said the timely donation will go a long way in fulfilling the First Lady’s desire towards improving the living standards of the vulnerable in society.

Food security is our mandate and priority and where there is a deficit we must find ways to close the gap said Seedco Sales and Marketing Manager, Mr Charles Munyoro when he handed over the donations.

The ceremony was punctuated by song, dance and poetry from Kwekwe Primary School pupils.
