A government delegation led by Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Engineer Joel Biggie Matiza has visited Chivhu Hospital to meet families of victims of the Featherstone disaster which claimed 16 lives yesterday.

The delegation also met the injured admitted at the same hospital.

The transport operator which owns the commuter omnibus which was carrying all the deceased has availed $300 to each victim towards funeral expenses.

Mr Lameck Marufu, who represented the company, said they were touched by the sad loss of lives which also claimed the driver and conductor.

Chivhu Hospital Superintendent, Dr Alice Kanyemba said of the 7 injured only one is still admitted at the hospital after 4 were transferred to Harare Central Hospital, one to a private hospital while one has been discharged.
