The construction of a road network in Mbire district has been described as a serious commitment by government in transforming marginalised communities.
The development has created employment for the local people and opened economic space for investors.
Road network is key for economic development and the construction of tarred road linking Mahuwe and Kanyemba is expected to create more business opportunities.
Apart from improved road network, the project has created employment opportunities for the community.
Ordinary people in Mbire district say the infrastructure will unlock a transformative story as they had suffered with no meaningful development.
Mbire Rural District Council chair Mr Robson Chidongo commended the new government for opening the economic space of Kanyemba.
He, however, said there is urgent need to construct the bridge at Mwazamutanda River linking Chapoto and Mariga village.
Mariga is a closed village and home to the Vadoma people who have already received tremendous support from the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa who has since introduced a farm mechanisation programme.
Despite Mbire district being closer to Zambezi River, there are water challenges in the area and more still needs to be done to ensure the dream of urbanising Kanyemba is achieved.
