The government says it is committed to ensuring that Zimbabweans have access to decent housing.
The Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing strategic plan review workshop ended in the capital this Wednesday with a commitment to ensure Zimbabweans access decent affordable housing.
The Permanent Secretary in the ministry Engineer George Mlilo says government has set its sight on ensuring bottlenecks in availing housing are done away with.
There was also an undertaking to ensure entities such as the Urban Development Corporation (UDCORP), mandated to develop state land are adequately capacitated.
UDCORP has been engaged as the official land developer in the country in order to restore sanity as land barons had been duping people desperate to own houses.
The strategic planning review meeting is held annually as a forum for the ministry and stakeholders to interface and reflect on achievements as well challenges in the delivery of the ministry’s mandate.
