The government recognises the complementary role played by private voluntary organisations and the church in the provision of services towards the well-being of Zimbabweans.

This came out during the national church leader’s workshop that was held in the capital.

Representing the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Petronella Kagonye, Director of Social Welfare Mr Thuso Mapala applauded the work by private voluntary organisations including the church in the provision of services towards the well-being of Zimbabweans.

The Zimbabwe Christian Ministers Association has engaged various government departments towards ensuring involvement of the church in national development.

The church plays a critical role in building communities and in supporting key national development programmes and these include uplifting the lives of vulnerable groups in society.
