People living with HIV and AIDS have applauded the church and government for their quest to have a free HIV and AIDS generation through awareness campaigns.
People living with HIV and AIDS from Zimbabwe HIV and AIDS Activist Union Community Trust have applauded the church and government on the continuous awareness campaigns to have a free HIV and AIDS generation.
People living with HIV and AIDS who spoke to the ZBC News on the sidelines of the Seventh Day Adventist Church Highfield HIV and awareness campaign in Harare came open to the public about their HIV status.
“We have accepted that we are HIV positive and life goes on as we take our treatment,” said some of the people living with the virus.
President of the Zimbabwe East Union Conference Seventh Day Adventist Church Pastor Godfrey Musara noted that they saw it fit to compliment government’s efforts of having an HIV free generation through massive campaigns in churches.
Chairperson of Highfield district Adventist AIDS Ministry, Dr Elliot Chikati also said they have been doing the programme for the past week teaching people about drug abuse, good nutrition, taking of drugs when on antiretroviral treatment (ART) among other issues.
The campaign saw different stakeholders participating for the noble cause of fighting the pandemic.
