As the country enters a new dispensation targeted at revitalising the economy, the government has called for vibrant partnership with the corporate world, individuals and religious organisations aimed at engaging in community development programmes.
The Harare Metropolitan Province Provincial Corporate Social Responsibility Awards hosted the second edition of the event in Harare where the Minister of Energy and Power Development Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo who was the guest of honour, challenged the business community to restore public trust by considering long-term value creation built around corporate social responsibility.
Harare Metropolitan Province administration coordinator Mr Nathaniel Madzivanyika said it is possible for companies to make profits while being socially and environmentally responsible.
Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation was presented with a corporate social responsibility award for outstanding community support.
Harare Polytechnic was the overall winner of the Minister’s award.
Among other winners were Zimbabwe Chinese Business Association, Environmental Management Agency, Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries and Kuwadzana 3 High School.
