Commercial white farmers in Mashonaland East say they are ready to fully utilise their land for the betterment of the country.
The news emerged when Mashonaland East Minister of State Cde David Musabayana met them in Marondera.
This marks the beginning of government’s engagement process with white commercial farmers around the country.
Addressing the farmers, Cde Musabayana outlined government’s policy regarding land redistribution which he said is not discriminatory.
The farmers who came in their numbers welcomed the government’s process of engagement with them adding that as Zimbabweans they are ready to use the land productively.
The meeting which was attended by farmers from all the districts with commercial farms comes at a time the government has directed that all remaining white commercial farmers be issued with 99-year leases.
