A female Goromonzi farmer has called on fellow women to go into farming in order to transform their livelihoods and improve their general well-being.
Mrs Cynthia Maadza is expecting a bumper harvest from her 57 hectare Sussexdale farm in Goromonzi.
The farmer’s exploits are clearly visible when one pays a visit to her farm.
As she proudly inspects her maize crop, she urges fellow women to take up farming as a business as well as contribute to the country’s economic transformation.
Mrs Maadza, who is in her late 50s, said she cannot wait to harvest her crop and engage in horticulture, although she laments that other farmers are derailing the land reform programme by under-utilising land.
She appealed to government for a much bigger farm so that she can venture into cattle farming.
