This tournament, which was sponsored to the tune of US5000 dollars saw seven schools from Zimunya district in Manicaland Province fighting for supremacy.
The favorites, Zimunya Secondary did not disappoint as they shrug off challenges from other schools to book their place in the finals where they entertained equally impressive Gombakomba Secondary School.
After a nil all draw in regulation time, the match headed into the dreaded penalty shoot-out where Gombakomba converted all five penalties while a miss by Zimunyaâ€™s striker meant the end of the teamâ€™s dream of lifting the trophy.
Guest of Honour, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa who stressed the importance of sports as a unifier encouraged young people to take sporting activities seriously as they can improve their livelihood.
Speaking at the same occasion, Manicaland Governor and Resident Minister , Cde. Chris Mushowe hailed Senator Monica Mutsvangwa for her contribution towards the development of the community.
For their hard work the victors of Gombakomba walked away with the trophy and a set of soccer uniforms.
