A 12-year-old girl born with a heart disease in Bulawayo has finally returned home after a successful surgery in India.

Speaking to ZBC’s Khulumani FM, the child’s mother, Mrs Naume Nyamwa thanked everyone who contributed to the surgery, saying her daughter has since returned and is back to school.

According to Mrs Nyamwa, the surgery was successful although Amanda experienced some complications in India and had to extend their stay.

The process was more expensive than the initial budget and the family now owes an Indian hospital US$9500.

The family, which received financial support from the public following an appeal, is now set to host a fundraising in order to repay her debt.

Mrs Nyamwa urged all mothers with children born with disability never give up on their kids.
