Director – Television and Digital Platforms
Gilbert Nyambabvu is a multi-platform journalist and media professional with more than 20 years experience across legacy print and broadcast platforms as well as emergent global digital expressions. He holds a BA in English and Television Studies as well as a Masters in Law (LLM).
Gilbert joined ZBC in 2002 as a Reporter after having worked in print media since graduating from the Harare Polytechnic in 1997. He had risen to Executive Producer and Television News Presenter by the time he left the Corporation in 2006 for a 13-year spell in the Diaspora.
In 2019 he re-joined ZBC as part of Executive Management and is currently Director for Television and Digital Platforms. Being an avid enthusiast for the digital economy as it relates to the media, Gilbert has helped drive the mainstreaming digital content creation and distribution as critical complement to the ZBC’s legacy radio and television platforms.
Current Passion – Digital innovation and the concept of Ephemeralization – the idea of doing more and more with less and less … until you can do everything with nothing!
