German international handball instructor, Helmut Martin says imparting knowledge to a young generation of players is key to sparking a revolution in the sport.

Football might be the country’s most popular sport but Martin believes imparting the basics to young players is fundamental in transforming Zimbabwean handball.

Martin’s remarks came after conducting a D License coaching clinic to various coaches and teachers.

54 participants took part in the first of three clinics that will be held in the country with Helmut Martin expressing hope that standards would have improved when he returns to Zimbabwe.

From Harare, the German instructor will conduct another coaching course in Kadoma from the 11th to 13th of this month in Kadoma before concluding his Zimbabwean tour with another clinic in Bulawayo from 14 to 16 April.
