Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has described the Geneva mission as a success and commended all the stakeholders involved in human rights for their close cooperation and commitment.

Cde Mnangagwa commended the delegation that went to Geneva for the universal periodic review meeting for their sterling work that saw the United Nations Human Rights Council and members states adopt the Zimbabwean human rights report.

He was speaking at a dinner organised by the ambassador for the delegates.

Vice President Mnangagwa said the mission to Geneva was very successful as a result of cooperation of all stakeholders involved in the implementation and observation of human rights in the country.

Zimbabwe’s permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador Taonga Mushayavanhu said the delegation represented the country well at the meeting showing the impact of the country’s education system.

Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission Mr Elasto Mugwadi expressed gratitude to government for its continued support to the organisation.

The Vice President and his delegation are expected back home on Sunday (tomorrow).
