Government says the Zimbabwe’s future socio-economic development will be driven by the education sector.
While on a tour of a schools’ water resource development programme in the Zvishavane district, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Professor Paul Mavima lauded the initiative saying it is very crucial for development.
Professor Mavima said such programmes do not only benefit schools but even the surrounding communities.
The Schools Water Development Phase 2 being championed by the World Food Programme and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency has seen many schools in the district receive running water and nutritional gardens.
To date 22 boreholes have been sunk in Zvishavane district schools to provide water.
