Hundreds of people from the Doma community in Mashonaland West Province have benefited from the First Lady, Cde Auxillia Mnangagwa’s medical outreach programme, which today saw a group of 17 doctors offering free medical services to the people under Chief Chisunga.
Despite the poor road network and a rough terrain, Cde Mnangagwa defied the odds by enduring the journey to the marginalised community.
She took the opportunity to engage the community on their challenges and aspirations. Among the challenges raised by the community are human and wildlife conflict, shortage of food, early marriages and inaccessibility of the area.
The First Lady said she will appeal to the government on the serious issues raised and assured them of adequate provision of food to every Zimbabwean.
All the 66 families of the Doma community received donations in the form of clothes, maize, rice, soap, cooking oil and sugar among others, courtesy of the First Lady’s Angel of Hope Foundation.
Cde Mnangagwa also donated books and computers to the local schools, Masks primary and secondary schools.
