The burial of Zimbabwe’s founding father, former President Cde Robert Gabriel Mugabe is currently underway at his communal home in Zvimba.

The late revolutionary icon, who was declared a national hero, was originally supposed to be buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare, in a mausoleum that was still under  construction, but the family made a u-turn on their earlier decision.

He died at the age of 95 on the 6th of September in Singapore where he was receiving treatment for cancer after chemotherapy treatment was stopped as it was no longer effective.
