Legal experts say the late former Chief Justice (CJ) Godfrey Chidyausiku championed gender equality in the judiciary by implementing the constitution which provides for gender equity.

CJ Chidyausiku retired at a time when the constitutional court bench was gender balanced while the High Court now has a significant number of judges.
