Musicians from eight countries have thrown their weight behind Zimbabwe’s bid for the UNWTO Secretary General position with the group composing a song that markets Zimbabwe as a safe tourist destination.
The musicians from China, Malaysia, DRC, Indonesia, Angola and Zimbabwe are working on a single titled “Lovely Zimbabwe”, a track that exhibits the country’s tourist destinations.
A number of international artists taking part in the production of the single who met the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Cde Anastancia Ndlovu in Harare said the project will increase international appreciation on the country’s tourism industry.
Cde Ndlovu hailed the initiative and urged other musicians to emulate such projects.
When recorded, the song “Lovely Zimbabwe” is expected to be marketed in many countries as it will be sung in many languages that include English, French, Portuguese and Chinese among other languages.
