The football fraternity continues to mourn the death of Edzai Kasinauyo with former Young Warriors captain Vusimuzi Laher describing Kasinauyo’s passing on as a huge loss.
It was with great sorrow that Zimbabwean football followers learnt of Kasinauyo’s death last Friday.
Condolence messages from fans, former teammates, coaches and administrators have in the past few days been awash on social media.
As the football family continues to mourn, Kasinauyo’s former teammate at Cape Town Spurs Vusimuzi Laher said it is sad to lose a friend that led the way in showing current players one can also succeed off the pitch upon retiring.
When interviewed by ZBC News family spokesperson, Benson Nyanzira was uncertain as to when the body of the deceased will be returned home.
Kasinauyo passed away in South Africa at the Donald Gordon Medical Centre where he had been admitted.
He played for Caps United and Blackpool before moving to South Africa where he turned out for Cape Town Spurs, Moroka Swallows and Hellenic.
Kasinauyo also turned out for the Warriors and was part of the Zimbabwean team which competed at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations.
