A number of small scale organic farmers and food businesses recently participated at the annual Food Festival in the capital  at the weekend.

As part of the drive to promote the uptake of organic and natural foods, coordinator of the event Mr Victor Marufu said the Food Festival is a way of  promoting healthy eating options.

The event which was organised by the Zimbabwe Organic and Natural Food Association saw exhibitors displaying a variety of foods among them fruits, African salads, vegetables and different recipes of sadza.

Organic food is the product of a farming system which avoids the use of man- made fertilisers, pesticides, growth regulators and livestock additives.
