The Meteorological Services Department says the country is going to receive a significant amount of rainfall this weekend following a break in the southern and eastern parts of the country.

Head of Weather Services in the department, Mr Tichaona Zinyemba said flash floods are expected beginning on Friday and warned the public and motorists to desist from crossing flooded rivers to avoid loss of lives.

Mashonaland Central Province has to date recorded highest amount of rainfall with Rushinga having 46 mm, Ditito 33 mm, Chimhanda 27mm and Juru having the least with 24mm as at 05 March 2018.
