A representative of people with disabilities and a first time 18 year old voter were the first recipients of the consolidated final voter’s roll.

The two, both first time voters were great fun for the symbolic gesture as they expressed their readiness to exercise their democratic right to vote.

Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) chairperson Justice Priscilla Chigumba handed over the voter’s rolls to Bruce Nyoni and Kelly Gaston who both exuded their joy at the gesture.

This is the first time since the adoption of the biometric voter registration system that the country’s plebiscite will be managed with a consolidated voter’s roll to minimise electoral disputes.
