The First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has pledged to extend her charitable organisation, the Angel of Hope Foundation, to Manicaland Province given the intensity of damage caused by Cyclone Idai in the area.

This Saturday (today) the First Lady visited Iraq area in Chipinge where she met the cyclone survivors and pledged to open an Angel of Hope Foundation chapter in Manicaland.

Amai Mnangagwa said it is her wish to uplift Manicaland given the intensity of damage caused by the floods in the province.

“I have discussed with the Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs Dr Ellen Gwaradzimba and I have decided to open an Angel of Hope Foundation to assist the vulnerable,” she said.

She also spoke against child marriages commonly practiced in remote Chipinge saying the retrogressive behaviour is an abuse to the girl child and should be stopped henceforth.

Amai Mnangagwa later donated various goods to community members and amongst them was a physically challenged girl, Nancy Moyo, whom she pledged to assist with medical bills.
