The First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has taken a step to change the life of hundreds of children living in the streets of Harare.

The story of neglect, abuse and being orphaned defines one young girl from Chipinge who was part of the children who interacted with the First Lady.

This is the story of one of the children living in the streets and there are many others whose stories are almost similar.

Their cries have fallen on the ears of the First Lady who has vowed to make a difference in their lives.

Their needs and aspirations differ according to their backgrounds, to some she pledged to send them back to school, while for others she will ensure they get vocational training skills.

After a fruitful discussion with hundreds of children and adults living in the streets of Harare, the First Lady vowed to give them a normal life once again.

Focus has been giving prescriptions to children and adults living in the streets without involving them.

Apart from the First Lady’s commitment, private organisations and government departments have come on board to support the initiative.
