The First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has taken the fight against cancer to different apostolic churches in Zimbabwe.

The latest is the Johane Masowe WeChishanu where thousands of people gathered in Highfields, Harare for a free cervical and breast cancer screening awareness campaign.

Thousands of members of the Johane Masowe WeChishanu sect, have benefited from the First Lady’s campaign against cervical and breast cancer.

The First Lady who is also the ambassador of health said it is important to spread the word to every Zimbabwean if the programme is to achieve the desired goals.

Ministry of Health and Child care said the strategy that has been employed by the First Lady has seen some previously closed groups coming on board and requesting for her visits to their churches.

Madzibaba Moses Gwasarira and his followers believe that other members of the apostolic churches will hid the call and go for screening.

Since the beginning of the programme, more than 60 000 people have been screened and they are targeting more than 200 000 people by the end of this year.
