The First Lady Amai Auxilia Mnangagwa has donated computers to Mushawevana Children’s Home following her pledge to assist the home with computers during her visit to the home last year.

When Amai Mnangagwa first visited Mushawevana Children’s Home in Marondera on the 18th of December last year to donate Christmas goodies, she pledged to source computers for the children to access e-learning facilities and pledged to source computers.

Hardly two months later, the First Lady, has true to her word, fulfilled her promise by donating 10 laptops to the children’s home.

The donation was made on her behalf by Director in Minister of State’s Office Mr Muchemwa’s Mugwisi.

“As per her pledge when she came here in December, the First Lady Amai Mnangagwa has sent me with these laptops for use by the children,” said Mr Mugwisi.

The children’s home representative Reverend John Chinyowa thanked the First Lady for fulfilling her promise and promised to use the computers for the benefit of the children.

“We promise to use these laptops for the benefit of the children in this ICT world,” Reverend Chinyowa said.

Mushawevana Children’s Home is run by the Marondera Child Care Society.

It was established in 1993 and is home to close to a 100 orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children.
