Mabvuku will come alive this Saturday when the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa visits for a family fun day where sport, fun competitions and other various activities will toast the day.
A visit to Mabvuku by the ZBC News revealed the local community is already practicing ahead of competitions and the facilities are being given a facelift.
The First Lady’s inaugural family fun day is a sporting event which is expected to bring together Mabvuku, Tafara and Calidonia communities to a social communion filled with entertainment.
Angel of Hope Foundation Deputy Chairperson, Mrs Chipo Mutasa said the event is in line with the First Lady’s vision of improving the social and economic well being of communities.
The enthusiasm is already being felt on the ground with members of the community readying themselves for competition come the big day.
The conviction is that the family fun day will greatly improve their health.
A representative of the Ministry of Youths, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Simbarashe Gochera said the event will benefit the Mabvuku community as some of the sporting facilities which have been lying idle for many years are being revived.
A number of competitions including athletics, soccer, netball, tag of war, sack race and eating are lined up.
