stop_rape.jpgThe owner of a Harare bus company, First Class, Simbarashe Gibson has appeared before a Harare magistrate, facing charges of raping an 11 year old girl.

The state, represented by Mrs Valerie Ngoma alleges that on the 31st of August this year, the complainant was passing through the accused’s business premises along Gleneagles road in High Glen.

Gibson is alleged to have approached and enquired whether she had bus fare upon which he gave her US$2 and told her to come back if she needed more money.

It is further alleged that the complainant came back 2 days later after failing to locate her relatives in Dzivaresekwa.

It is alleged that Gibson then offered her accommodation at a cottage behind his garage.

During the night, Gibson then went to where the juvenile was sleeping and raped her before giving her US$80 the following morning.

He told her not to tell anyone threatening her that she will be arrested.

The accused accompanied the girl to Mbare Musika to catch a bus to Mutare but when she arrived, she told her relatives what had happened.
