Fireworks are expected at this year’s edition of Musica Festival 2017 which kicks off on the 4th until the 7th of this month in Harare.
Musica Festival is one of the largest cultural events in Zimbabwe organised by the Embassy of Italy.
The annual music showcase is part of the diplomatic mission’s vibrant culture exchange programme designed to facilitate stronger relations between Italy and Zimbabwe said Ambassador Enrico de Agostini.
This year’s festival opened with performances by local and visiting musicians among them songstress Selmor Mtukudzi.
Director National Arts Council of Zimbabwe Mr Elvas Mari said Musica Festival has received recognition as a major contributor to the development of arts and culture in Zimbabwe.
A representative of the partners Mr Benjamin Mukandi said there is need for the corporate sector to support the local arts industry.
Artists from Italy, Germany, France, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe will perform during the course of the festival.
