FC Platinum is on the brink of premiership glory after a 2-1 victory over Ngezi Platinum placed them as firm favourites to clinch the domestic premiership crown.

The win took FC Platinum‘s points tally to 69, two ahead of Dynamos who are second with 67 points.

Pure platinum play can, however, clinch the title on the final day by overcoming Chapungu in the Midlands.

The platinum miners can still clinch the title if they fail to win and Dynamos also fail to gain a victory.

The Zvishavane-based outfit is eyeing a maiden title after previous attempts ended in dismay.

FC Platinum is, however, well placed this time around with destiny in their own hands in the final weekend of fixtures.

Dynamos, however, still have a glimmer of hope after a win over Bantu Rovers kept their hopes alive.

The Glamour Boys, however, do not have a grip on their destiny.

DeMbare are second with 67 points while Ngezi Platinum fell out of the race following a defeat to FC Platinum.

Chicken Inn who are fourth with 61 points are also out of the running.

The relegation battle also continued with Harare City sinking into the murky waters after a 2-nil defeat to Hwange who steered clear of the drop zone.

Bulawayo City also fell into danger after a nil-all draw with Caps United.
