FC Platinum has ended its disastrous campaign in the 56th edition of the CAF Champions league with a defeat 2-1 to Esperance Tunis FC at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.

The home team was made to pay for squandering scoring opportunities as they succumbed to the Tunisian side with a 2-1 defeat to end their dance on the African safari with only 2 points.

Despite putting up a solid performance, which saw Ali Sadiki registering himself on the score sheet, two soft goals from Mohammed Meskini and Edem Rjaibi were enough to condemn the platinum miners to yet another defeat in front of the home crowd.

FC Platinum coach, Norman Mapedza said the CAF Champions League campaign has given his side that much needed experience which will be valuable going into the future.

Esperance gaffer, Mr Mejdi Traou however showered praises on the determination shown by the Zimbabwean side, saying they were not so fortunate to see positive results coming their way.

The result was just a bonus for the already qualified Tunisian side who have amassed an outstanding 14 points from six games.
