There is an air of anticipation in Zvishavane ahead of the crowning ceremony of Castle Lager Premier Soccer League 2018 Champions FC Platinum this Saturday.
FC Platinum will be crowned after their match against Ngezi Platinum.
The platinum teams supremacy battle might seem to be a dead rubber for most football fans but coach Norman Mapeza says he will use the game to assess some of his players in preparation for the African safari against Madagascan side Cnaps Sport.
“We are focused for the game and we remain focused to collect maximum points against Ngezi,” said Mapeza.
Champions FC Platinum are seeking to complete a double over runners up and fellow platinum side Ngezi, having snatched maximum points courtesy of a 2-1 win at Baobab through a well-executed Never Tigere injury time free kick.
Had the title momentum remained between the two platinum sides Saturday’s game would have generated into a blood and thunder encounter but now the game has been reduced into a contest to prove who among the two platinum sides is the better team.
Pure Platinum Play has not only written a sweet piece of history for the Zvishavane community but for the entire Midlands province having won the league for the second consecutive year.
