FC Platinum has described their CAF Champions League draw as fair after being paired with Angolan outfit Clube Desportivo Primero de Agosto in the preliminary stage of Africa’s prestigious competition.
The Zimbabwean champions will have to negotiate their way past their Angolan opponents in a bid to meet a set target of progressing to the group phase of Africa’s biggest club competition.
Despite facing experienced opponents in the form of Clube Desportive de Agosto who have taken part in the Champions League on 8 occasions, FC Platinum spokesperson said the draw was a fair one.
If the platinum miners overcome their Angolan opponents, they could face Bidvest Wits in the first round.
It maybe a maiden appearance in the CAF Champions League but Pure Platinum Play will be competing on the African Safari for the second time after a previous dance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
This year Zimbabwe will have one representative on the African Safari after Chibuku Super Cup winners Harare City decided against participating in the CAF Confederation Cup.
