farming in zimbabwe.jpgResettled farmers have been implored to boost the country’s agricultural sector though maximum utilisation of the land.

The call was made by Zimbabwe National Army Major General Engelbert Rugeje when he was presenting a paper at a 5 day seminar on the successes and challenges of the land reform exercise of 2000 at Headquarters Four Brigade in Masvingo.

Major General Rugeje said some of the challenges facing most of the resettled farmers include lack of financial resources to acquire equipment and inputs, which include fertiliser.

The fast track land reform programme saw over 80% of formerly white owned farms being divided amongst indigenous farmers.
