potholes.jpgFarmers in Chesa Area of Mt Darwin have expressed concern over the poor state of roads in their area which they say affects their farming business.

One of the farmers, Mr Paul Makari said the situation is worse during the rainy season when they want to transport fertilisers and other inputs to their farms.

Mr Makari of farm number 146 added that the road which links Matope and Chesa was last upgraded in the early 80’s, and farmers have been making use of side-tracks.

Another farmer, Mr Reason Masiyiwa said with the Christmas holiday approaching, the poor state of roads prohibits them to go home driving and will be forced to use scotch-carts to carry their groceries.

Chesa purchased area consists of small scale farmers and has more than 200 farms.
