The founder of ZDECO colleges and former Minister of Information and Publicity Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu says the number of ‘O’ and ‘A’ level candidates that have not registered for the November examination is due to financial constraints.

Dr Ndlovu called for the extension of the deadline up to the end of this month saying the education sector can be seriously affected if more students fail to sit for their examinations.

The Ministry of Education, Sports, Arts and Culture had set June 11 as the deadline for the November ‘O’ and ‘A’ level examination registration.

The Zimbabwe’s education system has over the past years been affected due to economic challenges that have seen the Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) failing to pay markers and delaying to release examination results.
