With just hours before the big match between the Zimbabwe 15s and Kenya rugby sides, sports enthusiasts in the city have expressed their excitement at the opportunity to witness the test match set for Hartsfields rugby grounds in Bulawayo.

All is set for what is expected to be a memorable and pulsating match between the Sables and the Simbas this Saturday with various stakeholders revealing their delight at the fact that the fixture will be staged in Bulawayo.

As the ZBC News crew visited various centres to hear rugby fans’ thoughts about the match, enthusiasm and excitement characterised the mood in the city.

While not all players can represent the country, for others, volunteering to work towards making the day a success has been their contribution to the historic encounter.

Three of them ply their trade with Highlanders rugby side.

They have expressed their delight at being part of the fixture while tipping the Sables to win.

With schools set to curtain raise on the day, the ZBC News crew caught up with some pupils from Milton High School, which is one of the institutions that has contributed tremendously to the development of the sport in the city.

These could not hide their joy at having the chance to see some of rugby’s best players showcasing their talents at Hartsfields rugby grounds.

Besides the sentimental value of bringing the match to Bulawayo, it will be a crucial encounter for the Sables who are fourth on the log with seven points from their two matches while their opponents are second with 13 points from three matches.
