The government has been challenged to come up with a fund aimed at assisting children suffering from cancers and cancer associated ailments across the country.

Cases of children suffering from rare cancer continue to rise, with calls for the government to come up with budgets that support children living with the disease countrywide.

Speaking on the sidelines of a $26 000 cheque presentation raised through the Husqvarna Mud Run concept, Kids Can Children Cancer Relief Zimbabwe Acting Director, Daniel McKenzie called on the government to consider setting up the fund as cancer remains a challenge needing immediate attention for many disadvantaged children.

He said the $26000 raised will be used to assist children admitted in ward 4 special at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare.
