Mr Nick Mangwana

The Permanent Secretary  in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Mr Nick Mangwana says government and supporting partners have made enormous strides to rescue and assist victims of Cyclone Idai with access to the affected areas becoming possible through opening up of new routes that are still being improved.

Mr Mangwana who was at the command centre in Mutare to deal with the cyclone said  there is going to be speedy supply of basic provisions due to the current developments adding that the formation of 13 sector specific sub-committees will increase the response effectiveness to the crisis.

He said corrupt individuals should take President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s warning against abusing the donations seriously as they will be brought to book.

More support is, however, needed to further fast track the assistance processes.
