The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) says aggrieved consumers have a right to engage their service providers and the authority if unsatisfied.
This emerged at a consumer awareness road show in Rushinga yesterday which attracted thousands of people.
Research executive Phibion Chaibva taking the opportunity to enlighten consumers on their rights and privileges.
“We have a duty to protect consumers as users experience dropped calls, network outages and are unable to access prepaid voice or services at times. If you are unhappy you have a right to tell the service provider and if you are still unhappy you come to POTRAZ with your grievances,” he said.
The event co-hosted by Radio Zimbabwe provided lots of entertainment, dance competitions and giveaways for the audience.
Radio Zimbabwe presenter Richmond Siyakurima expressed satisfaction with the huge turnout.
“We have been partnering POTRAZ for years now and we do this not just for them but other corporates as we have a huge following. This turnout is testimony to that,” he said.
The consumer outreach programme is running for the second year now countrywide and emphasis is now being placed on educating people on children’s internet rights and privileges.
