gen mujuru.jpgMedia, Information and Publicity Minister, Cde Webster Shamu says journalists should take a cue from commander par excellence, Retired General Solomon Mujuru’s life by maintaining high professional standards in carrying out their duties and desist from basing their stories on fabrications and speculation.

In his condolence message to the Mujuru family, Minister Shamu, who is also Chegutu East Member of Parliament, urged the media to desist from publishing malicious information and making unfounded allegations.

He said by so doing journalists will show their appreciation and gratitude for the contribution made by people such as Retired General Mujuru who made it possible for the media to enjoy freedom of expression.

He said the late Retired General Mujuru was truly patriotic and would always prioritise national interest before personal.

Cde Shamu also said as a businessman and politician, General Mujuru was guided by true African principles and ethics of loyalty, respect for traditional and national leaders, non regionalism and sovereignty.
