The Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC) has assured young people in the country that the US$10 million Youth Empowerment Fund being administered by CABS is still available and should continue submitting their project proposals to be considered for loan allocation.Â
The US$10 million fund was launched on the 15th of November last year in line with government’s indigenisation and empowerment drive.
ZYC Executive Director, Mr Livingstone Dzikira says so far 809 projects have been approved and funds have been disbursed to individuals who applied.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the ZYC affiliate organisation, Upfumi Kuvadiki say they are working together and have closed the rift that had emerged in the organisation.
Addressing journalists at a press conference in Harare, Upfumi Kuvadiki Spokesperson, Alson Darikayi and Privilege Gwiba, who is the Acting Secretary for Information and Publicity said the leadership of the organisation has closed ranks and resolved to pull in one direction.
Media reports earlier this week suggested that Upfumi Kuvadiki had been dogged by leadership wrangles whereby the organisation’s spokesperson, Alson Darikayi was reported to have been expelled.
