Musician Emmanuel Thomas says artists have a pivotal role to play in shaping the society through music.
Motivated by the spate of xenophobic attacks on foreigners living in South Africa, Emmanuel has released a one track video album titled: ‘Xenophobic Effects’.
Backed by the City Thomas Band, Emmanuel’s song talks about the evils associated with the xenophobic attacks.
He says it is the job of the artists to shape societal values through their music.
The video comes at a time when foreigners have been subjected to inhumane treatment by some South Africans who feel that they are depriving them of their jobs.
