Students have been urged to embrace education to transform the world for better.
This was the message at a sent off ceremony held this Monday in the capital for 14 Zimbabwean students selected for Indian Council of Cultural Relations who are set to leave the country next week to India for studies in various disciplines.
At a send-off ceremony, top Indian Envoy to Zimbabwe, His Excellency, Ambassador Rangsung Masakui urged the beneficiaries to be ambassadors of the country.
The Executive Director of Scholarships in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Christopher Mushohwe told students to work hard and bring back the expertise gained for the development of the country.
Guest of honour at the ceremony, Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Professor Amon Murwira highlighted the importance of education in the development of any nation saying real education is the only way to change the world in a positive way.
Representing the students, Victoria Gandanzara pledged to lift the country’s flag high.
7 students are going for under graduate courses while six are for post-graduate courses and one for a PhD course.
