Zimbabweans have been urged to embrace arts since it is an industry that can turn around fortunes of many.
Speaking at the Afro-Sino Art Exchange Forum currently underway in Harare, the Principal Director in the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation, Dr Benson Dube said visual arts and design are capable of contributing to the country’s fiscus and earn the country foreign currency, therefore there is need for the government and responsible ministries to maximise what the artists have and provide them with the necessary tools of trade.
Various artists hailed the exchange programme indicating that it will go a long way in marketing their works.
They also took the opportunity to underscore the need for the government and the parent ministry to come up with stringent laws to curb piracy.
The Afro-Sino Art Exchange Forum is a platform for artists from different countries to showcase their artistic products.
