The Zimbabwe Republic Police says 90 accidents were recorded across the country yesterday, with 11 deaths and 77 injuries.

In statement to ZBC News, national police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said most of the accidents were due to speeding, inattention, misjudgement, reversing error, driving without due care and failing to give way.

She revealed that a total of 267 drivers were arrested for various offences ranging from worn out tyres, driving without due care, driving on the wrong side of the road and touting for passengers.

Senior Assistant Commissioner Charamba urged drivers to exercise caution when driving on the roads, adding that police will maintain presence on the roads to arrest errand drivers.
