Harare South House of Assembly Member, Cde Hubert Nyanhongo, has embarked on an electorate verification exercise in the constituency to ensure readiness for this year’s general elections.
Cde Nyanhongo says the party’s structures in his constituency will verify all members who are eligible to vote to ensure that no single voter is denied the chance to cast their vote for their party.
“In the previous elections, eligible voters who are not on the voter’s roll led to a significant reduction of votes for Zanu PF since they could not cast their ballots, so we want to make sure that this problem is rectified before this year’s elections,†Cde Nyanhongo said.
While emphasising that the Harare South Constituency is ready for elections, Cde Nyanhongo said he will continue to launch more development projects to empower the people.
The resolution to hold elections as soon as possible was affirmed at the Zanu-PF People’s National Conference held last December in Mutare.
