President Emmerson Mnangagwa this morning visited residents of Mbare who tragically lost their home in a fire incident on Monday and assured them that their flats will be rebuilt.

On his way to the Robert Mugabe International Airport where he departed for the BRICS Summit in South Africa, Cde Mnangagwa passed through Matapi flats in Mbare to witness firsthand the damage left behind by the inferno.

On his twitter page, the president wrote: “Today I was in Mbare to meet and listen to residents who tragically lost their homes to fire. I assured them that we will rebuild their flats and return them to their homes. As the new Zimbabwe rises, we will leave nobody behind.”

The fire incident destroyed 14 housing units and left 65 individuals homeless.

Cde Mnangagwa has since assuming power in November last year made it clear that he is a listening president and believes in servant leadership.
